You Capture - 'Depth of Field'

This week Beth wanted...

"Focus subject, blurry background.  It can also be vise versa, focused background, blurry foreground."

That's Cool! I love to use my macro and supermacro on my camera (all shot in manual mode), but having a good super-zoom really helps too!
I could post SO many more, but here's just a sampling :)
I love all of these for different reasons, but possibly the first and last are my faves!

To join in and show off your D-O-F pictures, head on over to Beths :D

The detail on that dandelion is amazing!

Lovely Caroline. The dandelion gone to seed is my favourite.

Great shots!!

Call me crazy, okay, but I adore the shot of the cow!

I really want to love your first shot (so precious!), it's really too bad about the blown out areas on their faces. Do you shoot in RAW? I am so very close to making the switch, but it terrifies me! Anyway, I'm sure you know you can recover stuff like that in RAW.

Great shots!

Hi Jess. Thanks for your comments :D No, I don't shoot in RAW ~ I don't even have a 'proper' DSLR ~ I use a Canon S3. The shot that you commented about being blown out I COULD edit, I know that, but I actually really like the sun on their faces in THIS shot! Most times I would edit it out, but not this time :)

Caroline, that is really the great thing about photography isn't it!? If you love it then that is AWESOME! :D

I love them all but the detail in the dandelion shot with the completely blurred background really speaks to me. It's gorgeous!

The cow and the red shoes are wonderful! Great DOF examples. Nicely done.
