Fix-It Friday #46 - Cute Boy!
I didn't have my Lightroom or my PSE7 when I was working on these last night as I was relegated to the laptop! So, above are my Picnik Premium edits. I might see if I can get a bit of time to have another go later. Obviously with Picnik you can't fiddle with the RAW image, so it's a lot harder to do much with the over exposure. Also I didn't even notice the minor 'blemishes' on his face, as the screen on my laptop gives a lot less definition. All the same I am quite pleased with the results. I expected to come on the PC this morning and see over-yellow images (as is usually the case when I edit on the laptop), but am glad to see they are not too bad at all :D
More fixes of this photo to be seen over at iheartfaces this morning ~ see You there :D !
POST-SCRIPT:
Here are my two PSE7 edits.
- Adjusted in CameraRaw to bring back the over exposed areas mainly,
- Adjusted lighting on seperate layer to warm the image,
- Healed a few little dots and spots on his face,
- Dodged all over his face on a separate layer then blended down,
- Used a light burn and healing tool around his nose to lessen the over exposure there.
- Used Coffeeshop's Perfect Portrait action mostly to soften skin and brighten eyes, but it also added a little pop and pull to the picture.
- Cropped to 5X7
The second edit has Coffeeshop's Johnna's Tea Party action added, with the haze layer turned off. I am in love with this action at the moment!!
I also took some of Julie's tips and painted over the remaining overexposed areas very lightly with colours picked from his face and hair.
I dodged very lightly around his eyes again as they were still looking a bit over shadowed and overly pink around the edges (resulting from the action)
I lassoed his eyes and used 'grants tools ~ curve' to bring them up a bit more and faded the layer down to make the eyes real again :D
I could play longer with this, but I won't today as I think I have done enough already and you might want to visit some other blogs too!! :D

Great edits and cool slideshow feature!
Nice edit!! I haven't used the Tea Party one yet. I did use an action that looks similar though, Pioneer Woman's Soft and Faded.
Great work!
Great edits. I love them all! Thanks so much for all the time you put into them. :)
In your slide show, I really like the cropped shot with the face at an angle looking up at the sky, toward the end. Very nice. Would make a great wallet shot. :)
I really like "FIX4" it's GORGEOUS cropped that close and the tone is beautiful.
I'm loving these days as I learn so much with the before and after! Have to check out the "Coffeeshop" you mentioned. I've heard others mention it too and now I'm curious!
