Tuesdays Around the World ~ Visiting Friends & Family
This weekend was my first time shooting with my NEW DSLR ~ my long awaited Nikon D5000, who goes by the name of 'Seth'!
I don't have fancy glass just yet, but am determined to make the most of what I have for now :)
We were away this weekend, visiting good friends and my poorly Aunty ~ Seth came too, of course.
My friend's daughter is beautiful & doted endlessly over Solomon!
but he is a bit cute!
I went for a drizzly early morning walk to think and to pray.
Somehow Didcot power-station (in the distance) did not seem so out of place on a morning like this and somehow I felt it actually added some interest to an otherwise rather uninteresting scene.
I got some great macros (wasn't sure I was going to be able to do this with the kit lens and was very pleased to find I could!!)...
...and found some evidence of SPRING!
Later we visited my family.
This is my Nan chatting to Solomon.
I have chosen not to post the one picture of my Aunty ~ she is not at all well :(
The power-station whizzes past from the road ~ and likewise looks 'at home' in its dwelling place.
Many people complain about this 'eye-sore' but I think it would be missed should it ever be taken down.
As we drove home I read my manual and practised from the car window ~ the sunset was a lovely thing to practice on!
And night scene on the M6 ~ I've never been able to do this before :D
What's happening in your corner of the world this Tuesday?

We are praying that Emily is OK ~ she is one of our contributors from Japan and we haven't heard from her yet ...
