Basic LR fix (sharpen, auto tone, punch)

Top Row ~ LR (1- as above, 2- rotate, 3- vintage people from Laura Roberts on flickr)

Middle Row ~ PSE7 (1- Coffeeshop moody pop with B&W, 2- Moody pop with faded B&W, 3- moody pop straight)

Bottom Row ~ PSE7 (1- vintage news minus the B&W layer & the grain, 2- vintage news minus the blue layer, 3- vintage news straight) ~ by this time I had also cloned out the ballistrade using a layer mask. (I later used this layer mask to add as a luminosity layer in my next set of edits)

These were also made using vintage news, but I added the luminosity layer and dodged the darker side of her face, added screen layers and the last two edits also have some texture added :D #3 has a peach bokeh texture from eKristina (flickr) and #4 has that plus another texture overlay from Isabelle LaFrance (flickr)

I wanted to add a frame so I popped into Picnik to do it and while I was there...

I found they have a heart bokeh layer and a 'hearts desire' tint layer this month - I couldn't resist, so here is my Valentine edition :D

SOOC Saturday ~ Emerging Spring & A Mini-shoot!

Hurray, Hurray ~ Melody is back in action!!

After a long absence from blogland, while she was dealing with family 'stuff' we are all so pleased to see her and her fabulous photography back again :D

So here we are ~ SOOC Saturday ~ come and join in! :-

Yesterday I went for a mini-hike, did a mini-shoot and it was like a mini-spring day ~ sunshine and warmth, just for ONE day! Today the fog and cold hasn't lifted all day!

I edited lots from the mini-shoot (which you can see in yesterday's post here), but these were a couple of my fav's SOOC :D

After I read THIS post on iheartfaces I just couldn't resist having a go.

The sun came out today so I dragged three of my children out to play with me!

Here's what I got ~ most definitely my best shots this week!

I did take some other good shots this week too ~ interesting ones of marbles and things, but if you fancy seeing those you'll have to head on over to my 365 ~ go on, you know you want to!!

You Capture - Faces

This weeks theme at You Capture is Faces ~ I love faces! I adore all the crazy, cute and sometimes ugly faces my kids pull. So, for your amusement, here are a colourful selection taken over the last year (or so) :D

I love the way it is with kids that what you see is what you get: they haven't yet learnt how to put up a facade. I love that in these faces you can see the character of the child in the raw ~ the mischief, the sadness, the joy ~ it's all there in their faces :D

I ♥ Faces - Week 5 - “My Story In Photos: Places I Love”

I couldn't post the photos one at a time for this ~ there were simply too many! These shots span back over about 2 years and a fair few trips to this beautiful place. It truly is my favourite place in the world and the place where my family and I, or even just Paul & I retreat if we need to reconnect with God. I have been going there since my teens and it holds a place in my heart no other place ever will. It is MY place in the world ~ as I know it is so many other peoples' too!
