Fix-it-Friday #74 ~ Pumpkin Princess!
Here's what she said about it;
"The original photo was just uninspiring to me, and I knew it needed a little help. I liked the backlighting, but it just needed some help!"
ORIGINAL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FIX #1 (LR3)
(read these bottom to top!!)
The Brush strokes are adjustment brushes: dodge her face & neck, colour a tint on her skin, iris enhancement. The spot removal for a couple of blemishes on her right arm.
Crop to 7x5
Lookin' Good!! :D ~ transfer image into PSE to play with actions!
(Of course, I could stay in LR and play with presets, but lots of people don't have LR3 (yet) and every action I have in PSE I have found on the net for FREE so anyone could have the same! What I did in LR you could pretty much do in ACR as well. )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FIX #2 (PSE7)
Duplicated background layer
Applied HERSHEY action from HERE
Layered a copy of background layer back over the top to bring back in a little colour (set to soft light I think) and reduced opacity to liking.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fix #3
From Edit #1
(Hazy layer was set to Soft Light 40%)
After this ~ flatten and Save for Web.
Also on this one I stretched the grass at her feet (with some copying, cloning and healing) as it felt like she was too close to the bottom of the image, and then cropped to 8x10.
I also tried a vertical stretch/crop of this, just to see;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fix #4
Started with Fix 3 ~ duplicated...
Then ~ merge visible and reduce effect to 85% over original ~ flatten, save for web.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fix #5
As you can see I used a some gradient map layers ~ hard to describe those sorry, but one was brown/cream tints, one was blue/cream tints and last was rainbow!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fix #6
Duplicated Fix 2 and did exactly as above ~ virtually no fiddling.
And this is possibly my favourite of all :D
After merging ~ flatten ~ SFW
I hope you like my fixes :D

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you did screen shots of your history!! GENIUS! Why didn't I think of that??
Nice work. I think I am leaning towards #3 the most :)
Love the washed-out tones of edits 2 & 7.
Again soo many edits and detailed explanation. Thank you! Good job
Oh my goodness. So many great edits! Normally I don't like changing the orientation of a photo, but I think that in this case, you nailed it with the vertical conversion!!
Thank you so much for your nice comments at Through My Lens today.
