FIX-IT-FRIDAY - NO.49 - "Violet and Doll"
______________________________________
Edit One
Lightroom first (I am using the Beta trial)
- Use the curve (make an elongated S) to increase contrast
- Increase contrast slider just a touch
- punch & adjust to taste
- sharpen for portrait and adjust to taste
- luminance noise reduction just a little.
Love this already. It really doesn't need anything more, but I like to play!!

Edit Two
Gimp now :D
- Duplicate the background
- use high pass sharpen script and reduce opacity of mask considerably (down to about 15) ~ apply layer and merge down
- Duplicate that layer and select around eyes ~ create layer mask and dodge ~ adjust opacity to about 30%
- add a light-beige, soft light, tint layer ~ adjust opacity to taste.
- overlay light rose-pink, tint layer ~ adjust to taste.
- crop to 5x7
Totally ADORE the colours of this now!

Edit Three
And just because I love to try a black and white!
I took Edit one into PSE7 and used some of the new PW actions.
- Duplicate background layer. and make original invisible
- PW Sepia tone (no adjustments)
- merge down
- PW Beauty ~ changed the bump to 49%
- merged visible layers.
- PW Lovely and ethereal
- used 'darken things' layer to bring back her face, the dolls face, and patches on her arms & legs that seemed over bright (soft white brush at 88%)
- Set lovely layer to 43%
- Merged Visible
- Compared to original & Liked :D
- Saved!

Edit Four
Just for fun I took this into Picnik ~ cropped to a 5x7 and added an Easter Frame :D
I hope you like my edits. I have family arriving really soon, so I can't do any more today :(

Nice edits! I really like the frame on that last one :).
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the B&W edit! So striking! :)
looking at these now, I realise I forgot to raise the 'detail' slider (all the way up)in lightroom and they look at little to smooth ~ I'm not going to redo them all now, but it does make that bit of difference to the details.
Oooo, I really LOVE the B&W edit. It's gorgeous.
I'm insanely in love with edit two!
For some reason I can't get the first edit to view but of the rest I love three the best :)
